Electrical Requirements for Container Offices
Electric Service Requirements
Container offices require a 220V single-phase power supply.
To ensure safe and effective operation:
- Supply amperage must meet or exceed the minimum rating indicated on the office electrical panel.
- Hookups must be performed by a certified electrician.
Generator Sizing Requirements
If connecting a container office to a generator, please ensure the following minimum specifications are met.
- Generator Size, Standard Requirement: 30 kW (or 30 kVA)
- Voltage: 220V
- Disconnect: 125 Amp Minimum
- Wire Size: Must meet local building codes for minimum ampacity.
